Angels on the Greens Ticket

In my position as Senior Designer at Erickson Marketing Studio, I get very few opportunities to put on my print designer hat, but when I do, I tend to enjoy it. After designing the Angels on the Greens Celebrity Golf Tournament website, I had the opportunity to design a glossy ticket for the pre-tournament dinner party. The client was very pleased with the results and it was a fun change of pace from my normal front-end design work.

In my first few graphic design classes at UCF, we learned the history of typesetting, letter forms, and the print industry. Our tools were compasses, tracing paper, and rapidographs and I hated every second of it. I just did not see the benefit of using an exacto knife and rubber cement to set kerning and spacing on type. My enthusiasm about the subject picked up quite a bit when we finally started using computers. As I learned to use Quark to put together print ready documents, I started to see how having print skills could diversify my skills and improve my eye for design on the web.
